The Time for Innovative Dental Technology Has Arrived

Dr. Estella and our team at West Loop Dental Aesthetics care about the methods and techniques used to treat a patient’s smile. This is why we carefully research the various advancements being developed in the field to determine which devices will best serve those visiting our office. Below, you will find a list of the different technologies and equipment used in-house at our Bellaire dental office to generate greater precision and accuracy when aligning a patient’s results with their smile goals.

AIRFLOW® Max System

The AIRFLOW® Max System integrates cutting-edge technology into dental practices enhancing both the efficiency and comfort of oral hygiene procedures. At its core, this Swiss-made system utilizes advanced air-polishing technology powered by a mixture of compressed air, water, and micro-size powder particles. These fine particles are propelled onto both teeth and surrounding soft tissue, effectively removing plaque, stains, and biofilm without causing damage to the enamel. The process ensures a superior cleaning experience compared to traditional methods, as it reaches areas that may be difficult to access using conventional methods.

One of the primary benefits of the AIRFLOW® Max System is its ability to minimize discomfort for patients. 90% of patients do not need to get anesthetized during their deep cleaning procedure with the AIRFLOW® Max system. Unlike traditional scaling and root planing techniques that can cause pain, the gentle yet powerful action of the Airflow, Perioflow, and Piezon reduce the risk of discomfort during and after treatment. This makes it particularly suitable for individuals with sensitive teeth or gums.

In addition to enhancing patient comfort, the AIRFLOW® Max System contributes significantly to oral health outcomes. Thoroughly removing plaque and biofilm below and above the gumline helps prevent the onset of dental issues such as cavities and treat periodontal disease. Overall, the AIRFLOW® Max System represents a pivotal advancement in dental care logistics, combining advanced technology with patient-centered benefits to elevate standards of oral hygiene across dental practices.

Bien-Air Electric Handpiece

When performing a dental procedure, the Bien-Air electric handpiece serves as a valuable instrument because of its ability to provide a more comfortable patient experience. Complete with minimal noise and vibration, its quieter approach can help nervous patients feel more relaxed. Also, it is designed to reduce sensitivity and discomfort.

Carestream CBCT Panoramic X-Ray System

Patients who are preparing for dental implant placement or other maxillofacial procedures will be instructed to undergo digital imaging via our Carestream CBCT Panoramic X-ray System. This device relies on computer tomography technology to generate high-resolution, 3D images of an individual’s oral and facial regions. It delivers an in-depth view of the teeth, gums, jawbone, sinus cavity, and nearby structures so that Dr. Estella can easily analyze the information and prepare more precise treatment plans.

Carestream Intraoral Camera

Used to educate patients while also detecting smaller areas of decay, our Carestream intraoral camera is a pivotal piece of technology in our office. The handheld device includes a small camera on its tip so that it captures high-resolution images of the inside of a patient’s mouth. It produces an immediate visual, which can be viewed on a chairside monitor by our team and the individual receiving treatment.

Carestream Digital Intraoral Sensors

Another form of digital imaging is our Carestream digital intraoral sensors. Used to take radiographic images of an individual’s mouth, these sensors make it easier for Dr. Estella and our team to identify cavities, analyze gum tissue, and monitor the general health of a patient’s tooth roots, jawbone, and tooth development. Once we’ve compiled this information, we can better diagnose the problem and provide appropriate treatment to improve the patient’s smile.
